BOB

Bob is an accountant. He's 45+ and has leveled out in his career. He's plenty happy with his work though. Its just that he's so darn tired its become a drag. All he wants to do is sleep even though he feels he gets enough at night. Bob doesn't work at a big accounting firm but a small company where slackers are quickly noticed. Bob doesn't want to be a slacker but he's so tired he's falling behind in his work and his colleagues are a bit frustrated with him.

Bob is happily married, but he's noticed his wife Joan, has been more and more on edge with him. She nags him about his snoring and she seems worried. He doesn't understand why. What can he do about his snoring? He feels, "it is the way it is."

JOAN

Joan is a doer. She likes to stay busy. She makes a little money on the side buying and selling antique furniture. She always out looking for a good deal. Lately, Bob has been snoring so much that she can't sleep at night because Bob snores so loud. Now, she's feeling worn down and its hard for her to get out of the house. She's worried about Bob because he seems so tired, too. "It's gotta be because he snores so much," she thinks. "Something just isn't right."

She asks Bob to go see the doctor but he doesn't see the point. It frustrates Joan that he doesn't want to get help for himself and that he doesn't consider that she can't get sleep either. She loves Bob and wants him to get help.

BOB'S DOCTOR

The doctor is Bob's internal medicine doctor and sees Bob yearly for his check up. Bob has a small practice and wants nothing more than to see his patients live a happy, healthy life. Most of this patients call the doctor their primary physician and so the doctor wants to keep an eye out for anything that might be troubling his patients, even if it falls into the world of another specialist. If he sees something wrong, he wants to recommend his patients to the best caretakers. As part of his keep his patients healthy, he regularly attends continuing education presentations so that he can better diagnose a wider range of conditions. That's what lead him to the KOL's presentation on OSA (we don't show this, but its good backstory). The doctor knew that OSA is a big issue and wanted to learn more about it.
